Week 3/4 Term 2

A message from our principal

Mother’s Day Stall and Afternoon

Thank you to Kat, Mark, Rebecca and Jody for helping run the Mother’s Day Stall with me. It is such a great experience for the kids. It is lovely seeing them get excited choosing something for someone special.

Our Mothers and Special People afternoon was one of the loveliest afternoons I have experienced at work. I am very grateful to Rarni for helping Riaana and I help our kids serve their special person. Her patience and kindness were definitely needed in the fun but chaotic ‘tearoom’. Thanks also to Emma, for donating her time and skills so we could have cupcakes and scones for our Mothers and Special People afternoon. They were delicious and made the afternoon so special. And to our amazing staff, thank you for being fun and wanting special moments for our students.

Cross Country

Next Monday afternoon, from 2.30pm we will be having our school cross country. If you would like to help, we need helpers for our 3-6s at points around Dalyston to help our kids crossroads and point them in the right direction. You will need to have a current Working with Children’s Check. If you can help, please let Chelsea or I know. Our prep-2s will be running laps around our oval. You are very welcome to come and cheer them on.

OUTSIDE

OUTSIDE is always a highlight for me. This week our grade 3-6 students walked 10km! We sometimes forget how good a walk in nature is for wellbeing. That’s the beauty of OUTSIDE. We make the time to do things that seem so simple but give our students so much. When they got back to school I loved hearing about the chats, jokes and riddles they made up as they walked. We are seeing the benefits of OUTSIDE more and more, and are so grateful for your support with this program.

Mother's/Special Person's Day

Last week o Thursday we had our Mother's Day Stall in the library, all the students were able to get a gift for their special person. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this possible!

On Friday we had our Mother's day/Special person's afternoon, all the students loved having their special person come and join in with some activities and afternoon tea. Thank you again, to all the volunteers and staff who helped out and provided.

We hope everyone had a fabulous day on Sunday with their families.

O.U.T.S.I.DE

We've had another fantastic O.U.T.S.I.D.E day this week!
Our 4/5/6s went on a big walk along the rail trail while our juniors stayed back to do some yoga, create obstacle courses and venture down to the park with a special detour to John's house to see some of the amazing fruit trees he has.
